OOur Upper Elementary Program serves 4th – 6 th grade students. This classroom builds upon the foundation laid in our Lower Elementary Program. Students move further into abstraction, while still using Montessori materials. Students are encouraged to work collaboratively and to communicate with others. Projects are introduced which allow our students to work in small groups. Opportunities are provided for decision making and evaluation. Through real world experiences and hands-on materials, our upper elementary students learn critical thinking skills and are prepared to explore their world!

Students also enjoy participating in music, art, physical education, Spanish lessons, field trips and an overnight trip in the spring. Students completing our Upper Elementary Program find themselves very well prepared for middle school.

Typically, students entering the Upper Elementary Program have come from a lower elementary Montessori environment. If a student wishes to begin Montessori at this point, we evaluate that possibility on an individual basis.
