Our Middle School Program serves 7th and 8th grade students. This classroom builds upon the foundation laid in our Upper Elementary Program. While students move entirely into working in abstraction, they are still able to draw upon Montessori materials if needed. In addition to core subjects, students participate in Erdkinder, music, drama, art, physical education, Spanish lessons, and field trips. The class also plans and manages fundraising efforts to cover the expense of their overnight trip in the spring. Our middle school students serve as leaders and role models for our entire student body. CMS middle school graduates are independent, competent learners well prepared for high school. Typically, students entering the Middle School Program have come from an elementary Montessori environment. If a student wishes to begin Montessori at this point, we evaluate that possibility on an individual basis.
